Rules and Policies

OCC101rules

We at O Comic Con want all of our attendees to be safe and well-informed while at our show. Sure, rules aren’t fun, but they help create an environment where everyone can have a good time. Please take a look at convention rules and policies.

-1- Wear your wristband at all times. If you leave the venue for any reason during the day, please leave your wristband on if you are planning on re-entering the show. We will gladly allow you to re-enter if you are wearing your wristband.

-2- O Comic Con is a large, public event and as such, photography is allowed and encouraged. The event also attracts attention from local media in the form of news crews and newspapers. By entering the event, you have a reasonable expectation that you may be photographed and/or recorded. Photos taken by the official O Comic Con photographer, BPI Multimedia, may be used on the website, in print, or on social media sites. That said, we strive to be mindful of our attendees’ wishes. If you feel a photo of yourself at O Comic Con on an official channel (our website, our Facebook page, our Twitter account, et cetera) has compromised your safety or made you otherwise uncomfortable, please contact us and we will be happy to remove it.

-3- Please understand that the schedule and guest lineup is subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control. If an announced guest cannot attend the show or will be late due to flight delays or cancellations, we will publish the information as soon as we know about it on our website and social media channels.

-4- If you are in costume, exercise common sense when it comes to your props. Any gun or weapon prop that is brightly colored plastic or foam is perfectly fine to bring. If your gun prop is painted realistically, make sure you have a plastic orange tip in the barrel so that it is easily identifiable as a prop. Our staff reserves the right to ask attendees to get rid of a costume prop if it is deemed unsafe. Finally, we reserve the right to ask you to leave if you are behaving in a threatening or unsafe manner with your costume or props.

-5- O Comic Con is not responsible for any lost or stolen items during the event. If you do lose something, please remember that we have a Lost & Found. Many lost items are recovered by Lost & Found each year. If you leave your name and phone number at one of our Info tables (located at the Arena entrance and the Panel Room exit), our friendly neighborhood volunteers will do everything in their power to reunite you with your lost items.

-6- In the immortal words of Bill & Ted, be excellent to each other. We are fortunate enough to be part of a community of friendly, welcoming folks. A little courtesy goes a long way in a crowd or in a line, and respect for your fellow attendees is paramount during Q&A panels and open discussions. If you see anyone harassing or disrespecting others, please notify an OCC volunteer, staff member, or officer on duty. See our Anti-Harassment policy for more details.

-7- We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave if they are harassing others or being disruptive. No refund will be granted if your behavior results in your expulsion from the event.
